Walton, Gwinnett Schools Cancel Class for Jan. 29

Check to see your kids in Gwinnett or Walton county will have a snow day Wednesday.

With all the snow coming in, many schools are announcing their closings.

Gwinnett County Public Schools announced via Facebook that it will close all day Wednesday (Jan. 29).

Walton County Schools is closing, too. No students or employees are to report to school.

As for private schools, George Walton Academy in Monroe posted on its website that classes and all after school activities are closed Wednesday, too. Classes also are canceled for Trinity Prep Loganville and Covenant Christian Academy. According to Monroe Local, Loganville Christian Academy will not be having classes held at the school, but instead Wednesday will be an iLearn or distance learning day. 

According to the National Weather Service, most of the snow is expected to fall before midnight. One to two inches of snow with "locally higher amounts" are expected to accumulate. Wednesday is predicted to be mostly sunny with a high of 33.
