Loganville's Town Green Pavilion Ready for Dedication in Honor of Nunley

UPDATE: Loganville Parade has been rescheduled to 10 a.m. on Saturday - pavilion dedication will go ahead Wednesday as planned.

Loganville pulled out all the stops and now have the pavilion on the new Town Green ready for Wednesday's dedication. The pavilion will be dedicated to former Mayor Ray Nunley who passed away in April this year.

Now officials just have to hope the weather cooperates.

"We are still going ahead with plans for the dedication on Wednesday, and the parade on July, 4th," Loganville City Manager Bill Jones said. "The 4th only comes once a year and we will be here on the 4th. Loganville is not going to let a little water rain on their parade."

The pavilion dedication is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3rd, and the parade is scheduled to kickoff at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 4th. The official opening of the Town Green take place on July 4th and activities are planned through 2 p.m.

"We just need the weather to hold off until 2 p.m.," Jones said.

Councilwoman Michelle Lynch shares details of the dedication on July 3rd and activities planned for July 4th here.

Predictions from the National Weather Service, however, are not cooperating at this point. A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for the local area from Wednesday morning until 8 a.m. on Friday morning and a Hazardous Weather Advisory has been issued, beginning Tuesday. July 4th is the day most likely to be impacted.

The Oasis Church has rescheduled the fireworks display until Saturday, July 6th.
