Grayson Grad Quanterus Smith Drafted into NFL

The Denver Broncos' post-draft depth chart lists Smith third at right defensive end.

Quanterus Smith, who graduated from Grayson High School in 2008, was drafted in the fifth round by the Denver Broncos and is listed on the team's roster.

Smith, who suffered an ACL tear toward the end of his career at Western Kentucky, should be healthy for training camp, SB Nation reports.

Smith lettered for two years at Grayson High and earned First-Team All-Country honors, the Broncos' bio says. He also lettered in basketball.

In 2012, he was named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year.

"Smith has major pass-rusher burst," Bill Williamson wrote for ESPN.com. "He had 12.5 sacks last season and was leading the nation in sacks before his injury. All but a half sack came in three games. What is extremely impressive is Smith had three sacks against Alabama last season and new San Diego right tackle D.J. Fluker. It shows Smith can perform against top competition."
