Police: Babysitter Steals Homeowner's Checkbook, Debit Card

The homeowner found that her debit card had been used at Hardee's and RaceTrac, and it had been attempted to be used at an ATM and Taco Bell.

A babysitter reportedly stole the checkbook, driver's license and debit card of the woman she was babysitting for last weekend.

According to the Walton County Sheriff's Office incident report, the homeowner left the babysitter at her Rabbit Farm Road home in the Loganville area between noon and 5:30 p.m. last Saturday (Sept. 21).

During that time, the homeowner noticed some of her personal items were missing. She checked her account and found that her debit card had been used at Hardee's for $11 and $51 had been charged to RaceTrac.

The card also had been attempted to be used at an ATM and Taco Bell in the Monroe and Social Circle area, the report says.

She first told police that her items could have been taken at the Pet Super Store off Highway 78, but she didn't believe that's how it happened. A Walton County Sheriff's Office Zone Alert indicates that the babysitter reportedly stole the items, but that and the police report do not say if an arrest was made.
