Thumb of Intoxicated Man Crushed Between His Car and a Tree

The man tried to stop his car when it rolled down a steep driveway in Loganville.

Walton County Sheriff's deputies reported that a man had his thumb crushed on June 22 when he tried to stop his car from rolling down a steep driveway in Loganville. His hand somehow got caught between the car and a tree.

According to the incident report, when deputies arrived they found the victim highly intoxicated and going into shock. He reportedly told deputies that he had consumed "somewhere between 12 and 24 on 12 oz beer," and was not aware of what happened to him.

The homeowner of the Cathy Drive, Loganville, home told deputies that the man had run after the car in an attempt to stop it after seeing that it was rolling down the steep driveway. His hand was caught between the mirror and a tree that the tree impacted, almost severing his thumb. 

According to the report, an ambulance was already on the scene when WCSO deputies arrived to take the report.
