Business Spotlight: K9 Klean Up

Cats and dogs aren't just pets to a family; they're also members of the family. 

K9 Klean Up owners Jonah Colombo and Shelli Dowst understand that. Having been in the Loganville area since 2011, the duo specializes in everything from cleaning pets' play areas to checking them while their owners are out of town.

Last week, Patch spoke with Dowst to talk about the company and what kind of services it offers. 

Patch: Tell me a little bit about K9 Klean Up.

Shelli Dowst: K9 Klean Up offers a variety of services to help keep your canine companion as healthy and happy as possible. We take pride in cleaning the pooch's environment and play areas all the way to bathing the happy go lucky guy or girl. We set the standard in walking dogs, vacation checks as well as complimentary water source refilling. 

P: What special services do you guys offer?

SD: Every service we offer here is special because it is customized for the dog and its owners to help keep things simple. One less worry while you are away is if your dog or dogs are OK. Specifics include complimentary email or text messages that we have checked in with your pet and we can include pictures to show how happy they are.  

P: What makes K9 Klean Up different than other businesses?

SD: K9 Klean Up is different from other services because we specialize in putting together a package that best suits you and your pet. We are 100 percent dog lovers but we also accept all other pets and as such we have a personalized level of care for each pet as if it was our own. We have a guaranteed service, so if waste is camouflaged by leaves or a natural obstruction, we will come back and get it free of charge.   

P: What are your prices like?

SD: Our prices are very affordable as well as competitive. We charge a reasonable rate for singles pets and have a slight additional charge per extra pet. P: How long have you been in Loganville?

SD: We have been operating in Loganville since 2011 when we were just a one-man operation. We have lived here since I exited the US Army in 2005. Both of us are military veterans that have served both the country and our community.  

P: How big is the company? Is it a family-owned business?

SD: We are a family-owned business and there are two of us right now who operate the business that is established out of our home in Loganville.

P: Do you have any upcoming events, news or specials about K9 Klean Up?

SD: Currently we are planning a biker rally to help support rescues later this year. Details are still in the planning stage, but we will make sure to send the information to Patch and our customers as it comes to fruition.
