Bio

I have worked for 21 years with the Georgia school system and 15 of those have been in intervention with at-risk kids. I have Bachelor in Human Services and am certified to teach Physical Education.  I am currently pursuing a certification in Personal Training and a certification as a Military Fitness Specialist (AFAA). My volunteer work includes ten years in Youth Detention Centers all over Georgia. Several years prior I was a project Safe Place crisis volunteer with the Gwinnett Children’s Shelter. I am also employed as a PT Instructor for the 21st Century Boot Camp Program here in Walton County.

I'm excited to have a new venue to write in, as I enjoyed working for the Loganville Post newspaper years ago (before that, the Barrow Eagle). I hope to share parenting advice and stories (kids and grandkids supplying the experiences, of course) and also introduce Patch readers to the variety of resources that we have right here in our backyard to help with this thing we call family.
