Why You Should Always Remove the Tag on New Jeans Before Going Shopping in Them

Loganville man charged with disorderly conduct after objecting to an investigation into whether or not the jeans he was wearing, which still bore the tag, had been purchased.

The following charges were filed by Loganville Police Department during the period Arpil 29 to May 7, 2013. An arrest does not constitute a conviction. A Loganville man found out the hard way last month why it is always better to remove a label from a new pair of jeans before wearing them out - particularly to a store that carries the same brand. Joshua Keith Reynolds, 23, of Loganvile was charged with disorderly conduct by the LPD on April 29 after he refused to co-operate when police tried to invesigate whether the jeans he was wearing had been purchased. Officials in Walton County Investigating a Suspicious Death

Loganville man died two days after being beaten by two women.

Brandon Rhinehart, 26, of Loganville, died on April 9, 2013, two days after he sustained a beating, allegedly at the hands of two Loganville women. Loganville Deputy Police Chief Dick Lowry confirmed Rhinehart's death is part of an open investigation. "We can't draw any conclusions until we get the toxicology and autopsy results, but it is an open investigation at this time," Lowry said. According to the Loganville Police reports, officers responded to Bay Creek Crossing at about 6:32 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, in connection with a report of a dispute. Loganville Man Charged with Computer Pornography and Child Exploitation

James Tilden, 45, of Cown Drive, Loganville, was arrested by the Loganville Police Department on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, following a long-term investigation by the GBI.

Loganville Assistant Chief Dick Lowry reported that the Loganville Police Department, in conjunction with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, executed a search warrant at the home of James Tilden, 45, of Cown Drive, Loganville. As a result, Tilden was arrested and charged with two counts of Violation of the Georgia Computer Pornography and Child Exploitation Prevention Act. "Although it is disconcerting to have something like this occur in our community, we were certainly glad the GBI was able to detect this type of conduct and provide the technical support needed to charge this suspect," Lowry said in a press release. LPD Blotter: Suspect Tries to Eat the Evidence

While being placed in handcuffs, officers noticed he was chewing a green leafy substance.

The following arrests were reported by the Loganville Police Department for the  period Dec. 06 - 17, 2012. On Dec. 15, 2012 LPD officers pulled over a red Acura on Ga 10 for a seat belt violation. The officer noticed a strong smell of alcohol coming from the driver when speaking to him through the door and asked the gentleman to step out of the car for a field sobriety test. The driver was unsteady upon exiting the car and could not successfully complete the field sobriety test. Upon placing the suspect in handcuffs, officers obserbed he was chewing a gree leafy substance; he refused to open his mouth and continued to turn away from LPD officers. Inside LPD Reports: Men Get Into Fight Over Car Sale at Auto Auction

Police had to break up a fight over who was going to sell a potential buyer a car at the Peach State Auto Auction last week.

A Loganville police officer working a side job at Peach State Auto Auction on Nov. 28 was on hand to intervene when a fight broke out over the sale of a car. According to the police report, the off-duty officer was called when a fight involving several men broke out in the parking lot of Peach State Auto Auction. The officer drew his weapon and ordered the men to stop fighting. When back up officers from Loganville Police Department arrived, it was reported that the fight broke out over who was going to sell a Volvo to a potential buyer. Two of the men had Volvos for sale and each was trying to convince the same man to buy the car they were selling. By the time police arrived, the potential buyer had left without buying either car. …

2 Loganville Students Face Charges in Beating of Fellow Student

Loganville officials confirm arrest warrants are being sought for two 17-year-old students in connection with a beating incident last week.

Loganville Police Chief Mike McHugh confirmed that the police department would be applying for arrest warrants for two 17-year-old students from Loganville. He said the warrants were in connection with a beating incident that was reported by WSB Radio Thursday. According to WSB Radio, a Loganville High School student was jumped and beaten last week. His parents called the police after being told about the attack. A juvenile also is reportedly facing a juvenile complaint in connection with this incident. The victim sustained cuts, scrapes and bruised ribs in the attack. Walton County Public Schools is also reported to be investigating the incident. Inside LPD Reports: Candy Theft Caught on Tape

Stolen merchandise not recovered.

On September 29, 2012, a Loganville Police Officer was flagged down at the RaceTrac by one of the employees who stated that a gentleman had stolen an unknown amolunt of groceries items and left the scene as a passenger in a silver car. LPD was able to make contact with the vehicle at Old Loganville Road and Tuck Road and asked the driver to follow him back to the RaceTrac; she complied. After reviewing the surveillance tape, the officer witnessed the gentleman who was the passenger in the car taking several items from the candy aisle and walk out without making payment.  The manager stated she wanted to press charges and the gentleman was handcuffed and placed in the back of an LPD patrol car. UPDATE: Highway 20 Now Open Following MVA

UPDATE: Highway 20 now open. Loganville Police and Fire Departments are working a three-car accident with a large natural gas leak. Bay Creek Road and Highway 20 in Loganville, Ga. are currently shut down.

UPDATE: Highway 20 Now Open. Loganville Fire Chief Danny Roberts reported that Highway 20 and Baycreek Road in Loganville are currently shut down following a three-car wreck that produced a large natural gas leak. Loganville Police Department and Loganville Police Department are on the scene. Roberts said the Phillips 66 Gas Station has been evacuated and Lawrenceville Gas Company is on the scene investigating. Roberts said the accident resulted in one minor injury, but the road will be closed for quite some time. Patch will update as more information becomes available and when the road has been opened. In the meantime, motorists are advised to find an alternative route through Loganville.
