Home Invasion Shooting Prompts Neighborhood Watch in Loganville

Following the Jan. 4 home invasion in the Henderson Ridge Subdivision that resulted in a mother shooting the intruder, the Sharon Church community is coming together to organize a neighborhood watch.

In the light of recent crime in the area, the Sharon Church community is banding together to address the issue. On Jan. 4, Paul Slater was shot by Melinda Herman after he broke into her Henderson Ridge home. He survived the shooting and is now being held in Walton County Jail without bond. The Henderson Ridge subdivision is off of Sharon Church Road. Several of the homeowners in the greater Sharon Church Road subdivision plan on meeting this week to discuss establishing a neighborhood watch program. "As a result of this, we feel we should come together as a community and create a larger neighborhood watch program so we can communicate within our own area what may be happening," Loganville resident Anita Brown wrote in a newsletter to the …
