Should Parents be Allowed to Purchase Alcohol for Their Children Younger Than 21?
Wisconsin reportedly has a law that allows it and Colorado is considering one.
The Denver Post recently reported that a Republican lawmaker plans to introduce a bill in the Colorado legislature that would allow restaurants and bars to provide alcohol to young adults, older than 18 but younger than 21, if their parents are on hand to make the purchase. It reports that Wisconsin has a similar law. The Post reports the congressman was introducing the bill after not being able to share a drink with his daughter on her 20th birthday. Another argument was that parents of members of the military would also then be able to buy their children a drink to celebrate their return from a tour of duty. What do you think — good idea? Or why not leave it the way it is — another three years is not long to wait?

Absolutely. The country needs parents to be actually parent, and I don't want to parent anyone else's children. If they decide this is how they want to introduce alcohol to their young adults, it's not really any of my business.
