Bay Creek Elementary School has an enrollment of about 740 students from pre-K to fifth grade. The public school is a 2005 and 2006 Georgia Association of Elementary School Principals' School Bell Award winner and a recipient of the Governor's Platinum Award for student achievement on the CRCT. In 2009, BCES was recognized by Georgia's state school superintendent for outstanding achievement in mathematics in third grade and has been recognized by the Walton Tribune's Reader's Choice Awards numerous times. The school offers chorus and archery programs, with students competing in archery at a national level in 2009 and 2010. Ninety-five percent of the BCES staff members have graduate degrees or are currently in graduate school.
