Loganville's 2013 Christmas Parade Scheduled for Saturday

The theme this year is "Olde Tyme Christmas."

The annual Loganville Christmas Parade is scheduled for Saturday (Dec. 7).

Under this year's theme of "Olde Tyme Christmas," 65 floats are expected to travel down Main Street with lights, holiday extravagance, music and more.

This year, the Grand Marshals are Loganville residents Harold and Janice Tribble who are very involved in the community. Both are former councilmembers, with Harold serving four years and Janice serving six years. Harold was on the Loganville Tax Equalizer Board for two years, and Janice served on the Planning Commission for four year.

She also operated Miss Janice's Kindergarten for 24 years and served as a Walton County educator for 14 years.  Both have served on the Walton County Special Olympics Committee for 17 years, and had been actively involved in Little League, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Twirlers and Band.

"Their dedication and selflessness in giving to our City, its residents and its future is quite appreciated and this year the City of Loganville wishes to thank them," said Loganville City Councilwoman Michelle Lynch.

The annual parade starts at 5:30 p.m. on the streets of downtown Loganville. Be sure to bundle up and bring an umbrella: The National Weather Service predicts the high to be 55 degree and the low is 43 degrees, with a chance of 70 percent rain during the day and 80 percent chance of rain at night.  For more details on the parade, visit www.facebook.com/loganvillechristmasparade.
