Jingle Jog Brings out the 5K Competition

With fun for the whole family, the F.A.C.E.S. Jingle Jog logged more than 450 runners in the 5K Race

A bright December day heralded around 475 runners to the 6th Annual Jingle Jog at West Walton Park today.

The volunteers were ready for the turn-out; the event has grown each year. "The first year, we had around 85 runners," said Kristen Henshaw, an event coordinator. "We had 350 pre-registered runners." The Reindeer Dash, a one mile course, saw 50 contestants of all ages who walked, strolled and ran.

Along with Santa and Mrs. Claus on hand to take those December wishes, children of all ages were able to enjoy the many activities set up for the day.

The FACES Jingle Jog and Reindeer Dash is part of a series of Jingle Jogs, but it is unique in that ALL proceeds benefit F.A.C.E.S. (Families of Autism/Asperger's, Care, Educate and Support) to provide Summer Camp 2012 for children on the Autism Spectrum for ages 4-21.
