In the wake of the shooting in Ct. and other shootings in public places it is more important than ever that law abiding citizens arm themselves and take responsibility for their own personal protection. If you think about it, law enforcement arrives only after the shootings have taken place and the damage is done. This is not a diss at them because God Bless Them, they have a very difficult job and I personally Thank Loganville Police Department and the Walton County Sheriff's Department for their faithful service to our communities. It is just the reality of the times we live in.
Recently, I read on the WCSD email of numerous convicted felons arrested with guns. Bad guys will get guns, laws or no laws......I am a Concealed Carry Supporter, Pro 2nd Amendment supporter and a firm believer that citizens should obtain a CCW license, a weapon, and learn to shoot thru a Certified Firearms Instructor. Many gun ranges provide classes for this. I carry to protect myself and my family should the situation arise.
Single women, especially, are vulnerable to crime and I strongly encourage them to make a decision and follow thru to become licensed, proficient and comfortable with shooting a pistol for self defense and deterrence. Pepper spray doesn't work on some individuals especially if they are high on drugs or drunk. Being constantly aware of your surroundings when you are in public, who is around you, who is following or watching you is very important. Criminals are like Predators in the wild..they look for the unaware and weak, the ones talking or texting on their smartphones, the ones......distracted from their surroundings.
Be alert, be vigilant, be armed, be ready. Decide that you will not be a victim. It is very important to have the mindset of a warrior........I learned this in my Martial Arts Training...but "the Arts" are ineffective if the perp is out of arms reach.....the mind must be settled or you will hesitate and hesitation can get you killed.
