Red Devils Send Redan Packing

The Loganville Red Devils made quick work of the Redan Raiders in the first round of the state playoffs.

The Loganville Red Devils swept a double header on Friday afternoon, advancing to the second round of the state AAAA baseball playoffs. Coach Jeff Segars and his Red Devils took on the Redan Raiders of Dekalb County and came away with impressive wins in the best of three series.

In the first game, senior pitcher Kenny Anderson pitched a strong game allowing only one run in seven winnings. It was a pitchers dual with Redan taking a 1-0 lead into the bottom of the sixth inning. That's when Loganville loaded the bases. With two outs, Tyler Gray became the game one hero. Gray came to the plate and hit a grand slam giving the Red Devils a 4-1 lead.

Gray said after the game, "I was looking for a fast ball, that's all he was throwing, I got my pitch."
