Loganville Second Baseman Named Peach Belt Freshman of the Week
Benson hit .353 with eight RBIs in four games last week for Georgia College.
Georgia College's Brandon Benson, a second baseman from Loganville, was named the Peach Belt Conference Freshman of the Week, according to a press release.
Benson hit .353 with one home run and eight RBIs in four games last week, including a home run and four RBIs against North Greenville University. He then collected four hits in a three-game sweep at Francis Marion University, going 3-for-5 in the final game with three more RBI. Benson had no errors in 19 chances, and turned four double plays.
Benson is the first Bobcat to win Freshman of the Week since April of last year.
