Loganville Red Devils Win 2012 GHSA AAAA Baseball Championship

Taking the third game in a 14-4, six inning win, Loganville Red Devils won the GHSA AAAA State Baseball Championship Monday.

After winning one in a squeaker and losing the second handily, Loganville came back strong on Monday to beat Greenbriar 14-4. The Red Devils logged the win in just six innings to take the Georgia High School Association's Class AAAA State Baseball Championship, according to Stan Awtrey on AJC blogs. The 2012 title was reportedly Loganville’s first championship since 2008.

Loganville coach Jeff Segars told Awtrey the team knew going in they could win in a Game 3 because of strong pitching. The hitting wasn’t so bad either. The game ended in the sixth inning on the mercy rule after the Red Devils had put 14 runs on the board.
