Grayson High's Nkemdiche Named to Lombardi Watch List

The former Ram star is a defensive tackle at Ole Miss.

Former Grayson High School football star Robert Nkemdiche has been added to the Lombardi Award watch list, the Jackson (MS) Clarion-Ledger reported.

Nkemdiche, who led Grayson to the 2011 Classs 5A state championship, is a sophomore defensive tackle at the University of Mississippi.

The award goes to college football’s top lineman or linebacker. He is one of 123 players on the list.

Eligibility for the Rotary Lombardi Award is limited to down linemen, end-to-end, either on offense or defense, who set up no farther than 10 yards to the left or right of the ball, or linebackers who set up no farther than five yards deep from the line of scrimmage.

 

Nkemdiche was a Freshman All-American last season for Ole Miss.
