Going to See Golf Pros Play at TPC Sugarloaf?

Here's some stuff you need to know about attending the Greater Gwinnett Championship at TPC Sugarloaf in Duluth this week.

So you’re planning to attend the Greater Gwinnett Championship this week at TPC Sugarloaf in Duluth. A field of 81 PGA professional golfers are scheduled to play in the 54-hole Champions Tour. The veteran 50-plus players will be competing for a $1.8-million purse. Here's some stuff you need to know:

Tickets are still available and may be purchased Monday through Sunday, April 15-21, at the Gwinnett Arena Box Office, 6400 Sugarloaf Parkway. Box Office hours are as follows:

  • Monday April 15- 10:00am-5:00pm
  • Tuesday, April 16- 10:00am-5:00pm
  • Wednesday, April 17- 6:00am-5:00pm
  • Thursday, April 18- 6:00am-5:00pm
  • Friday, April 19- 9:30am-6:00pm
  • Saturday, April 20- 9:30am-6:00pm
  • Sunday, April 21- 9:30am-6:00pm
  • Tickets that are being held at WILL CALL will be available Wednesday-Sunday at the times listed above.

To reduce traffic congestion, all public parking is at Gwinnett Center, 6400 Sugarloaf Parkway, and a shuttle will carry spectators to TPC Sugarloaf.

The shuttle will operate at the following times Wednesday through Sunday, April 17-21.

  • Wednesday, April 17, 6:00am-8:30pm
  • Thursday, April 18, 6:00am-8:30pm
  • Friday, April 19, 9:30am-1 hour after last putt
  • Saturday, April 20, 9:30am-1 hour after last putt
  • Sunday, April 21, 9:30am-1 hr after last putt
  • Parking will not be permitted onsite at TPC Sugarloaf without a proper parking pass.

The public is not being admitted Monday and Tuesday while golfers do practice rounds.

The Championship Pro-Am in which amateurs and professionals play is scheduled Wednesday and Thursday. Morning tee times start at 7:15 a.m., and afternoon tee off times start at 12:15 p.m. both days.

Round 1 of the Greater Gwinnett Championship gets underway Friday with tees times starting at 11:05 a.m. Golfers tee off for Round 2 Saturday starting at 11:05 a.m. Kids activities are scheduled from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday behind the 18th Green.

Tee Times for the Final Round start at 11:05 a.m. Sunday.

Golf Channel coverage is scheduled from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Friday, and 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

One-day passes for grounds admission cost $25. A weekly badge (Wednesday through Sunday) is available for $60. One-day clubhouse passes may be purchased for $50. A weekly (Wednesday through Sunday) clubhouse badge is $100. Clubhouse passes are good for clubhouse and tournament grounds admission.

Children 16 and under will receive free grounds admission with a ticketed adult. All children over the age of 2 will need a pass for any hospitality area.

Charitable beneficiaries of the golf tournament are Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Georgia Gwinnett College Foundation, Gwinnett Children’s Shelter, Gwinnett County Public Schools Foundation, and Gwinnett Tech Foundation.
