Walton BOE To Begin Looking For New District 5 Member

With no Walton County elections until 2012, the Walton County BOE is expected to appoint someone to replace Loganville member Teresa Nay, who has resigned because of a move to Florida.

Walton County Board of Education member Teresa Nay resigned from her post of the BOE last week as she is moving out of the state. Since there are no elections in Walton County until next year, board members are expected to begin interviewing possible appointees to fill the post until that time, according to other BOE members.

Nay represents District 5, which covers parts of Loganville, including Walnut Grove. Other current Loganville board members include Mark Banks, District 3, and Gwen Cantrell, District 6. Nay has served on the Walton County since being elected in 2007. According to her bio on the BOE website, Nay and her husband, Tom, have lived in Walton County since 1997. Nay operated a small business in Walton County for 10 years and currently works in sales and marketing for several local restaurants.

Nay's resignation is expected to be accepted at tomorrow's BOE's regular August meeting.
