Pink Out for LCA's Game Friday

The Loganville Christian Academy Lions will host Unity Christian in a sea of pink at LCA's Hawkins football stadium at home in Loganville Friday in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Pink is the color of choice for tonight’s match-up between and Unity Christian at home in Loganville. The Pink Out is a tradition for LCA’s football team and is in honor of October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, according to head coach Andre King.

“We do this annually during the month of October; then we promote our Shoot 4 Cure Classic which is played in the month of November,” King said.

The Shoot 4 A Cure is an All Girls Basketball Classic hosted by LCA benefiting research to find a Cure for Breast Cancer. This year it is scheduled for Nov. 18 and 19. A Hundred percent of the ticket sales collected at that event will be donated to The Pink Ribbon Ladies, a local Chapter raising money for the Susan G Komen 3-Day.

King said the Pink Out tonight is not in the name of any particular person battling breast cancer, but proceeds will support LCA’s Pink Ribbon Ladies.

“They will be on hand to pass out information about breast cancer,” King said, adding the ladies will be walking the 3-day next Friday.

As well as the effort to draw attention to breast cancer, the LCA Lions will be ready to make up for last Saturday’s crushing defeat by Mount Vernon Presbyterian’s Mustangs. According to Maxpreps, the Lions were trounced 63-0 in the non-league match-up, ruining their flawless 6-0. However, they head into tonight’s game still a respectable 6-1.

“Our kids play hard and they believe in each other, King said. “They are putting their God given talent to great use.”

Kick-off is at 7 p.m.
