Loganville Teen Heads to Hockey Nationals

A Loganville teen is competing with his team, Atlanta Phoenix Pee Wee Major, in Nationals!

On March 3 the Atlanta Phoenix Pee Wee Major team won the State Championship, sweeping The Atlanta Fire to qualify for the National Championships. 

The Atlanta Phoenix Hockey Club plays out of the Duluth Ice Forum. This group of talented 12 and 13-year-old kids won their SYTHL division earlier this season with a record of 20 wins, 3 losses and 1 tie in League Play and have finished the regular season with an overall record of 41 wins, 13 losses and 8 ties. 


 
The National Championship PeeWee Tournament will be held in Reston, VA, just outside Washington DC, March 28-April 1. The tourney will consist of 10 teams squaring off in four games of a round-robin section, with the top 4 ascending to a single-elimination round. 

 
Matthew Gagnon is from Loganville and a student at .  He has played ice hockey for 9 years.  Matthew plays forward and has 101 points this season.
