High School Football Playoffs - Who's In, Who's Out?

In the Loganville/Grayson area, Grayson High School and Covenant Christian Academy remain in play for a Championship this season.

In the quest for a high this year, two Loganville/Grayson schools remain in the hunt. With a win over Lowndes County Friday night, the Rams move on to face West Forsyth next weekend in the quarter-finals of the 2011-2012 GHSA Class AAAAA State Football Championship.

In the Independent Christian Schools of Georgia/Alabama championship, hopes to take home a championship for the second year in a row. After disposing of last week, the Lions take on Unity Christian from Rome Saturday for a second shot at the title.

According to the Valdosta Times, Grayson’s 25-17 victory over the Lowndes Vikings in Round 2 of the GHSA AAAAA Championship Friday came as a result of the Rams’ defense which “was everything they said it was.” Star junior Robert Nkemdiche was also given much of the credit for Grayson’s win, finishing the game with 58 yards across 17 carries and accounting for three Grayson touchdowns. The game was played on Grayson's home field.
