When Are Snow Make up Days for Gwinnett, Walton Schools?

After closing Tuesday (Jan. 7), GCPS has scheduled its make-up day for Feb. 17, but there is no official word yet for Walton County Schools.

After closing Tuesday (Jan. 7), Gwinnett County Public Schools has scheduled its first snow make up day for 2013-14 as Feb. 17. There is no official word yet for Walton County Schools.

GCPS made the announcement via Facebook. The GCPS calendar has Monday, Feb. 17, as a snow makeup day "priority 1." 

Walton county's calendar has listed Jan. 2 and March 14 as inclement weather days.

The state's largest school district, Gwinnett, announced Monday (Jan. 6) that classes would not be held Tuesday because of the extremely cold weather conditions in the Gwinnett area.

The statement by Gwinnett schools Monday read:

"Due to the extremely cold temperatures expected overnight and concerns regarding safety and operational issues, Gwinnett County Public Schools will be closed Tuesday, January 7."

Another class day lost to weather this week is unlikely. According to weather.gov, the high for Wednesday (Jan. 8) in Loganville and Grayson is expected to be 41 degrees, with no precipitation forecast.
