Grayson Rams - State Champions in Shutout Win

In a 24 - 0 Final at the Dome Saturday, the No. 1 Grayson shutout the Walton Raiders to take the Georgia High School Association Class AAAAA State Championship

True to their word, the Grayson Rams Finished the Mission at the Dome Saturday to finish up the season 15-0, taking the Georgia High School Association Class AAAAA State Championship crown in a shutout.

The Grayson team jumped on Walton early, scoring 10 points in the first quarter and 14 in the second, on their way to finish the game with a 24-0 shutout for the night. Grayson was able to respond to every move by the Walton offense and block every attempt they made to score. Robert Nkemdiche, rated the top high school junior in the country by many sport pundits, scored the first touchdown for the offense and also spent much of his time on the field anchoring the Rams' defensive line.

Big plays hurt Walton all night. The Raiders fumbled away their first possession, which Grayson turned into a field goal - their first for the season. In the second quarter, the Rams threw a 45-yard touchdown pass, securing their place in history. The Raiders never recovered. The got close late in the fourth quarter to at least avoid the shutout, but the Rams defense held them on fourth-and goal on the sixth to finish the season on an all-time high for the Grayson team.
