Grayson Rams headed back to 7 on 7 Select

Also, AJC names Robert Nkemdiche football Athlete of the Year.

Even without the help of quarterback Nick Schuessler this year, the are headed back to the 7 on 7 tournament. Schuessler is already playing in the SEC at Mississippi State.

According to the Gwinnett Daily Post, the Grayson was runner-up after losing to Byrnes A team in Friday’s qualifiers in Sugar Hill. That was, however, enough to earn a spot in the national tournament in Hoover, Ala., on July 26-28.

In other sports headlines for the Grayson Rams, The Atlanta Journal has named defensive end and running back its football Athlete of the Year. In nominating Nkemdiche, the AJC heralded his 18 sacks and the fact that he only allowed 38 rushing yards per game. It also noted that in leading , Nkemdiche rushed for 528 yards and scored 17 touchdowns for the Rams.
