Friday Night Lights: September 23

Your weekly preview of High school football in the greater Loganville-Grayson area

This week's rundown on the gridiron action:

The Rams head to Shiloh to challenge the Generals. Grayson looks to extend their undefeated streak to 5 tonight following last week's blowout of Berkmar. The Rams won handily by a score of 43-0. Shiloh is 1-3 and would love nothing more than an upset after last week's loss to Parkview. Next week the Rams head home to play Dacula.

The Red Devils face a 2-2 Salem tonight at home. Emotions ran high last week for the Devils, who defeated Madison County by a score of 37-14. Last week's home crowd was clad not in Red & Black but in blue, in memory of Madison Young, Salem won last week against Appalchee. Next week the Devils head to Athens to face Clarke Central.

The Comets square off against the 3-1 Parkview Tigers at home tonight. The Comets are riding high on an upset win at the dome last Saturday against Central Gwinnett, defeating the Black Knights 63-55. Last week marked the first win this season, in which they have faced tough opponents every week. The Comets record is now 1 and 3. Next week they head across town to face the Brookwood Broncos.

travels north again tonight to North Hall County. The developing Warriors team lost a hard fought game to Franklin County High last week. OJ Soto's team looks to even up their win-loss column at 2 apeice tonight against the 0-3 North Hall team, who fell handily against an offensive onslaught from Gainseville, 55-15. Next week, the Warriors come home to face West Hall.

The Tigers travel to Berkmar tonight. Both teams are 1-3 and coming off losses last week; Archer in a tight game against Brookwood, 21-19, Berkmar was routed by the Rams, 43-0. Next week the Tigers come home to face the Shiloh Generals.

Monroe Area heads to Chestatee High School tonight. The 'Canes beat Lumpkin County last Friday, 23-2. Chestatee is undefeated so far this season, besting Dawson County last week, 27-21.  MAHS is 2-1 this season, they head to Watkinsville next week to play Oconee County High.

 welcomes to the Lion's Den tonight. The Lions look to continue their undefeated season tonight against the Cougars. LCA has won each of it's five games this season with commanding leads. The Cougars have won their sole game this season, and hope to head home tonight 2-0. Next week, LCA heads to Atlanta to face Mount Vernon Presbyterian. The Cougars next game will be October 14th, against Young American's Christian Acedemy.
