According to city officials, about 10 people have already made it known they would be interested in pursuing the option to . In order to do that, someone first has to present the city with a petition, signed by 35 percent of the registered voters, asking for a referendum calling for the voters to approve the measure. If it passes, that would begin the process allowing for a package store to be opened in the city. Mayor Ray Nunley has said that in the event of it passing, the city would likely issue two permits - one in Walton County and one in Gwinnett County.
