Would You Support Allowing Package Stores in the City of Loganville?

City officials in Loganville are moving forward with letting voters to decide on whether to allow for package stores in the city.

After voters overwhelmingly voted to approve a , Loganville looks like it is headed in the same direction.

According to city officials, about 10 people have already made it known they would be interested in pursuing the option to . In order to do that, someone first has to present the city with a petition, signed by 35 percent of the registered voters, asking for a referendum calling for the voters to approve the measure. If it passes, that would begin the process allowing for a package store to be opened in the city. Mayor Ray Nunley has said that in the event of it passing, the city would likely issue two permits - one in Walton County and one in Gwinnett County.

Would you support the measure? Take our poll.

Although this poll is unscientific, it does appear to indicate that people like the idea of a package store, or two, opening up in Loganville.

It appears that the demand is there. Now there needs to be a supply. Now that Sunday sales are allowed people are simply going to neighboring communities to make their purchase. I would just as soon see us having the store(s) here in town & keeping the tax revenue. From the "for what it's worth" dept of a non-drinker.

Really? And you have documented proof to support this claim?
