So Will Super Tuesday be the Decider?

With 437 delegates up for grabs on March 6, could a clear winner emerge with enough momentum to begin the march to the GOP Convention in Tampa in August?

Super Tuesday is always a big day in presidential primaries and 2012 is no different. At the moment, leads the delegate count with 203 of the 355 already dished out. However, with 437 up for grabs on March 6, things could change overnight. The Wall Street Journal Delegate Tracker has behind Romney with 92, with 33, with 25 and Jon Huntsman, who has since dropped out, with 2 delegates so far. Although so many of the delegates are there for the taking Tuesday, with 1,144 needed for anyone to clinch the nomination, there is still a way to go before any of the candidates can feel they have it in the bag. Super Tuesday is unlikely to change that.

Georgia is the big prize on Tuesday with 76 delegates and most polls have native son in the lead for those. However, there are plenty more delegates available with 66 in Ohio, 58 in Tennessee, 49 in Virginia, 43 in Oklahoma, 41 in Massachusetts, 32 in Idaho, 28 in North Dakota, 27 in Alaska and 27 in Vermont.

So what comes after Super Tuesday? The 2012 Presidential Election News has 55 delegates being chosen in Kansas, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Guam on March 10 and then 110 on March 13 in Alabama, Hawaii and Mississippi.
