Mitt Romney Takes Iowa Caucus in a Squeaker

Rick Santorum comes in second, followed by Ron Paul and Newt Gingrich a distant fourth. Rick Perry came in fifth, Michele Bachman sixth and Jon Huntsman finished last with just 1 percent of the vote.

According to CBS News,Β Mitt Romney takes the Iowa Caucus in a squeaker, beating out Rick Santorum by just 8 delegate votes in what for all intents and purposes was considered a dead heat. Each took 25 percent of the vote.

This is the opening round of the GOP Republican Primary that now sets the pace for the rest of the states to make their choice for the Republican candidate. will face off against President Barack Obama in November.

In the rest of the field, Ron Paul came in third with 21 percent of the vote, Newt Gingrich fourth with 13 percent, Rick Perry fifth with 10 percent, Michelle Bachman sixth with 5 percent and Jon Huntsman came in last with just 1 percent.
