Police Blotter from the Loganville Police Department

The following arrest information was supplied by the Loganville Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The following arrests were reported by the  for the period ending July 17. 

July 14

  • A 29-year-old Atlanta man was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle without a valid tag/decal, driving while license suspended and for failing to get a new license within 30 days of moving to a new residence. A check revealed his New Jersey license had been suspended. He was arrested and transported to the Walton County jail.
  • A 24-year-old Loganville man was charged with simple assault and making terroristic threats and acts after police were advised a man, armed with a machete, was leaving Walmart. He is reported to have made threats against the complainant who the subject alleged was having an affair with his mother. The subject was located and reportedly admitted to making the threat. The machete was located in the car and the subject was transported to the Walton County jail.

July 15

  • A 32-year-old Loganville man was arrested and charged with shoplifting (less than $300) after police were dispatched to Walmart in reference to a shoplifting. The loss prevention officer had the subject under citizen’s arrest for shoplifting. He was booked at the Loganville Police Department before being released on a copy of the citation.
  • A 24-year-old Loganville man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence (alcohol less safe) and failure to maintain lane following a traffic stop on Tommy Lee Fuller Road for failure to maintain lane. The subject reportedly claimed to be checking his texts, but the office reported a smell of alcohol and the subject allegedly failed the field sobriety test. He reportedly tested at .124 grams on the Alco-sensor, but he refused to take the state breath test. He was arrested and transported to the Walton County jail.

July 16

  • A 36-year-old Loganville man was arrested and charged with DUI (alcohol less safe) and failure to maintain lane following a traffic stop on Logan Drive. The officer reported a strong smell of alcohol and the subject allegedly admitted to having two drinks. He also failed the field sobriety test and tested positive on the Alco-sensor but refused the state breath test. He was arrested and transported to the Walton County jail and a passenger was picked up on an outstanding warrant. The vehicle was towed.

July 17

  • A 17-year-old Loganville girl was arrested and charged with a violation of a Class D driving restriction, DUI (under 21, .02 percent or more), driving without a license and failing to move over for emergency vehicles and a 19-year-old male passenger in the car with her was charged with possession of alcohol by a minor. The car was stopped after it failed to move over while police were conducting a traffic stop in front of Home Depot. The police officer reported a smell of alcohol, but both subjects reportedly denied drinking. They agreed to the test and the driver registered .023 grams on the state breath test. The vehicle was released to a friend and the two subjects were transported to the Walton County jail.
  • A 53-year-old Watkinsville woman was charged with disorderly conduct after police responded to a report of a suspicious person sitting in her car at the Marathon gas station for more than an hour. She told police she didn’t have money to get home to Watkinsville and a check indicated there was no license on the vehicle. When informed there was no insurance, the subject allegedly went into a tantrum and had to be subdued and handcuffed. She was transported to the police department and reportedly put in a cell for her own safekeeping before being released to her sister.
  • A 49-year-old Monroe man was picked up on an outstanding warrant and charged with shoplifting (less than $300) after police were called to a local restaurant on a possible shoplifting case. An employee from Walmart reported seeing the subject take a cable from inside the store without paying for it and then return it for cash. He was followed to the restaurant and when police approached he allegedly admitted to having an outstanding warrant in Walton County. He was arrested and transported to the Walton County jail.
  • A 19-year-old Loganville woman and a 20-year-old Loganville man were arrested and charged with shoplifting (less than $300) after police were called to Walmart in reference to two people in custody. Walmart staff reported the woman was seen removing tags from several items of clothing while the male watched out for security personnel. The woman then reportedly stuffed the items in a purse she was carrying. They were stopped at the door and held until police arrived. They were booked at the LPD before being transported to the Walton County jail.
