Police Blotter from the Loganville Police Department

The following arrest information was supplied by the Loganville Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The following arrests were reported by the  for the week ending June 12. 

June 7

  • A 20-year-old Lawrenceville woman was arrested and charged with shoplifting (less than $300) and a juvenile with her was charged with violation of his driving permit and being an unruly juvenile after he was caught stealing condoms from Walmart. When approached by authorities, the juvenile ran. Once arrested, he told authorities he had driven, in violation of his class C permit. The woman was arrested and the juvenile released to his mother.
  • A 29-year-old Lawrenceville woman was arrested and charged with speeding and driving on a suspended license after she was clocked driving at 51 mph in a 35 mph speed zone. The vehicle was released to a passenger and the subject cited and released on a copy of the citation.

  • A 48-year-old Loganville woman was arrested and charged with driving under the influence (alcohol less safe) and failure to maintain lane after a traffic stop in the Walmart parking lot. The subject was arrested after she failed the field sobriety test and refused to take the state breath test.
  • A 44-year-old Loganville woman was arrested and charged with shoplifting (less than $300) after an employee from Walmart reported she had checked out without paying for $8.11 worth of baby products. She was booked at the LPD before being transported to the Walton County jail.

June 9

  • A 35-year-old Loganville woman was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana (less than 1 ounce) after police were called to the Waffle House in connection with someone who might be under the influence of drugs.  Initially the subject denied it although police reported a smell of marijuana, but she later retrieved a clear plastic bag containing a green, leafy substance from her bra. She was arrested and transported to the Walton County jail.

June 10

  • A 25-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman were charged with disorderly conduct following a dispute at the Tara Estates club house swimming pool over the disciplining of children. The subjects, who were guests at the pool, sided with the children and began using foul language and arguing with the Tara Estates board member who was trying to tone down the rough play of some of the children. They were cited and released at the scene.
  • A 32-year-old motorcyclist from Arizona was arrested and charged with DUI (alcohol less safe), reckless driving and speeding following a traffic stop for speeding (81 mph in a 45 mph zone) on Highway 81. The driver initially sped away when the police officer turned around, but was approached by police when he pulled into a driveway. He couldn’t make up his mind whether he would take the breath test or not - finally agreed to take it but stopped once it went passed 0.098 grams.

June 11

  • A 31-year-old Loganville man was arrested and charged with DUI (alcohol 0.08 grams or more, 21 or over), failure to maintain lane, incorrectly lighted headlights and for an open container violation following a traffic stop on Highway 78. The subject tested at 0.171 grams on the state breath test and a 40-ounce bottle of Budweiser beer was located between the front seats of the vehicle he was driving.
  • A 39-year-old Loganville man was arrested and charged with DUI (alcohol 0.08 grams or more, 21 or over), possession of marijuana (less than 1 ounce) and for an open container violation following a traffic stop. The subject tested at 0.146 grams on the state breath test and an almost-empty Budweiser beer can was found behind the center console. He was arrested and the vehicle towed.
  • A 37-year-old Loganville man was arrested for making an improper turn and driving on a suspended license after he was stopped for making an improper turn into the Best Buy shopping center. When his license came back as being suspended, he was arrested, booked and transported to the Walton County jail. His vehicle was towed.

June 12

  • An 18-year-old Loganville man was arrested and charged with shoplifting (less than $300) after police were called to Best Buy when the subject was seen removing the package from a Nintendo DS game and concealing it on his person. He was booked at the LPD.
  • A 22-year-old Grayson man was arrested and charged with shoplifting (less than $300) following a call to Walmart concerning a man seen attempting to steal video games by slitting the packaging with a knife and placing the games in his pocket. A juvenile with him was released to his mother and the subject was booked at the Loganville PD and transported to the Walton County jail.
