New Gwinnett County Commissioners to be Sworn In On December 30

Two new names will take a seat on the commission

Per a press release from Gwinnett County, a group swearing-in ceremony will take place on Sunday, Dec. 30, for three members of the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners. Chief Magistrate George F. Hutchinson III will preside over the ceremony and administer the oath of office to Commission Chairman Charlotte Nash, District 1 Commissioner Jace Brooks and District 3 Commissioner-elect Tommy Hunter.

Nash, who has served 18 months as chairman after winning a special election in March 2011, was unopposed in both the primary and the general election. She begins her first full four-year term in January.

Brooks was the only candidate to qualify for a special election to fill a vacancy in District 1, taking office in September. He had no opposition in the general election for a full four-year term that starts next month.
