LPD Unveils New Website

Loganville Police Department updates old design with a new interactive community policing based model.

Members of the hope their new website and break into the social media world will help get more citizens involved in community crime prevention and crime reporting.

An unveiling of the new website reveals additional contact information as well as upgraded information ranging from Neighborhood Watch to tips on bullying prevention. Several new online services also have been added, including the ability to request house checks while a resident is away from the home and anonymous crime tips or reports of suspicious activity. Traffic citations also can now be paid online.

“The Loganville Police Department is committed to providing the best law enforcement services available to the City of Loganville,” Loganville Police Chief Mike McHugh said in a press release. “Our residents deserve nothing less than professional, community based policing. The updated website is a tool to continue fostering a positive relationship with the community and a means for every citizen to have a part in protecting our community.”

McHugh said recognizing the benefits and need of employing social media, the LPD is now also using Facebook to disseminate community updates. A link to the Facebook page can be found on the LPD website or at www.facebook.com/LoganvillePoliceDepartment.
