Loganville Eggstravaganza Set for this Weekend

Children 2 through 10 are invited to collect treat-filled eggs on the front lawn of Loganville City Hall.

The 2012 Loganville Eggstravaganza is ready to host hundreds of children on the front lawn of Loganville’s City Hall. At the corner of Pecan Street and Broad Street, children ages 2 through 10 are invited to come out at 10:00am on Saturday, March 31st, to collect treat filled eggs.

In its third year the festive celebration offers an opportunity for children to collect eggs and enjoy toys and sweet treats. This year’s event will kick off a fun start to the local public school’s Spring Break and lead up to a great Easter weekend. With three age groups hopping onto the field to collect rewards, 4,000 eggs will delight all the children who join the Easter Bunny for some fun. Last year the day began with gray clouds overhead, that surely did not stop our enjoyment. With a chill in the air, approximately 150 children took to the lawn to gather their loot. As they headed back to their parents and grandparents, baskets were overflowing with eggs. This year’s weather is expected to be warm with yet another gray sky. That does not slow down Loganville, last year was proof.

With 200 children expected to join us this year, children should come out to City Hall with their fastest running shoes and biggest Easter baskets. The first group to collect, at approximately 10:00am, will be ages 2 to 4. The second group will host ages 5 to 7 with the last group aged 8 to 10. We ask children to please collect a maximum of 10 eggs to insure their friends will have the opportunity to do the same. The Easter Bunny will be happy to take photos with anyone who wishes to snap one. Parking will be available in the Broad Street City Parking Lot, as well as the City Hall Parking Lot.

“The Eggstravaganza is such a fun, innocent event the City of Loganville has the opportunity to host. It’s a time when children get to relish in excitement and anticipation," said Councilwoman Michelle Lynch. "The Easter Bunny thoroughly enjoys coming out, visiting the children and seeing them collect the eggs.”

This year Lynch is afforded the opportunity to once again work closely with the Parks and Events Committee Members. Committee Member Councilman Mike Jones has respectfully enjoyed the leadership role in organizing the 2012 Loganville Eggstravaganza.
