Loganville Appoints Associate Judge; Amends Alcoholic Beverage Ordinance

The city amended the alcoholic beverage ordinance to lower renewal fees.

By unanimous vote, Loganville city council members amended the alcoholic beverage ordinance Thursday, lowering renewal fees to make it easier on businesses in the city.

"We had a meeting on this and everyone was glad to see fees go down instead of up," said Councilman Wendell Geiger, chairman of the Planning and Development Committee.

The initial administration fee was lowered from $300 to $200 and a renewal application was lowered from $300 to $50. The fee for a transfer of location was lowered from $500 plus a $100 permit fee to $200 plus the permit fee and the renewal fee for a background check would go from $50 to $10.
