Local Residents Focus on Super Tuesday

With the four remaining GOP candidates trying to wrap up as many votes as they can by March 6, some local residents took advantage of the weekend's campaign stops in Georgia.

Georgians had an opportunity to meet two more of the Republican hopefuls this weekend and some people from the Loganville area took advantage of the opportunity. Native son and former Speaker Newt Gingrich was in Suwanee on Saturday and Rick Santorum was in Cumming on Sunday.

"I wanted to see if I could get Newt Gingrich to come talk visit a chamber function," said Kim Hames of the Greater Eastside Chamber of Commerce, adding after it was after talking to a friend that she decided to see if she could meet him in person. "I rearranged my schedule and decided to go see what he had to say. I am very glad I went."

Hames said she didn't manage to get to see Santorum on Sunday. However, her mother did and she was going to talk to her mother to find out some information about Santorum.
