GOP Primary Presidential Candidate Herman Cain Leads the Field in Georgia

Cain is ahead in Georgia polls by more than double-digit percentage points over fellow Georgian Newt Gingrich.

As a Republican primary candidate, Atlanta-based radio talk show host and Georgia businessman Herman Cain has taken the lead among Georgians in the quest for the presidency in 2012.

In an InsiderAdvantage Poll on the candidates for the GOP Primary in Georgia, Cain received 26 percent of the vote, more than double the next candidate, which was Minnesota Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann at 13 percent and fellow Georgian Newt Gingrich who came in third at 12 percent.

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin came in at fourth with 11 percent and national frontrunner, former Minnesota Gov. Mitt Romney, was fifth at 10 percent. There were, however, 22 percent of the Georgians polled who said they were still undecided. The InsiderAdvantage poll claims a 5 percentage point margin of error.
