February 8th is Officially Girl Scout Cookie Day in Grayson

Mayor Jim Hinkles recognizes local scouting in proclamation.

The cookie season is upon us and as Laura Paul-Cone says, "who doesn't like Girl Scout cookies?" 

Mayor Hinkle was pleased to welcome local Girl Scout Representatives to Grayson City Hall on Monday as he signed a proclamation recognizing February 8th as National Girl Scout Cookie Day as part of the Girl Scout Cookie Program.

WHEREAS, National Girl Scout Cookie Day is a day designed to celebrate the Girl Scout Cookie Program and the five basic skills girls learn by participating in the program: goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, and business ethics.

WHEREAS, for more than 100 years, Girl Scouts has been engaged in girls’ lives serving as a resource and expert on their growth and development.

WHEREAS, through the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, girls in grades K-12 discover themselves and their values, connect with other girls, and take action to make the world a better place.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Jim Hinkle, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of The City of Grayson, GA, do hereby applaud the commitment Girl Scouting has made to support the leadership development of girls in the State of Georgia. I hereby recognize February 8 as National Girl Scout Cookie Day as part of the Girl Scout Cookie Program.
