In a press release issued by Grayson Forward, Grayson residents are urged to vote 'yes' on November 8 for distilled spirits. The vote, according to the press release, would enable a package store to operate within the city of Grayson.
"In today's troubled times," the release says, "the residents of Grayson will be substantial winners if they vote 'yes' for distilled spirits.
"If a package store is permitted to open within the City of Grayson," the release continues, "this will undoubtedly provide substantial tax revenue for the City of Grayson, which would in turn ease residential tax burdens by growing the city's commercial tax base, as well as create much needed jobs for our local community."
Grayson Forward notes that no location has been designated as a lot for a package store, but that it would most likely open along the Highway 20 corridor.
Early voters can vote between now and November 4 at Grayson City Hall between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. General voting takes place Nov. 8, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
