Bowman to Head up Loganville Middle School

Walton County Public Schools announced Wednesday that current Harmony Elementary School principal Christy Bowman will take over the position of principal of Loganville Middle School.

The position became available recently when former principal Russell Brock asked to be transfered to the position of director of maintenance following what officials termed "concerns" at LMS.

Bowman was previously a teacher and administrator at LMS.

“I am honored to be selected as the new principal at Loganville Middle School.  It is an exciting opportunity for me to return to this wonderful school in the great Loganville community where I previously spent ten years as both a teacher and an administrator," Bowman said in a press release. "As an educator I have always enjoyed teaching and helping middle school students to learn and grow. I look forward to working with the outstanding staff and leading them as we start construction of our beautiful new LMS facility.”

WCPS Superintendent Gary Hobbs said Bowman was the obvious choice for the position.

“Mrs. Bowman has worked in education for 22 years, 17 of them for Walton County Public Schools as a middle school teacher, an elementary and middle school assistant principal, and a principal," Hobbs said in a released statement. "After an extensive interview process, Mrs. Bowman was the obvious choice to fill this position. She has been extremely successful in every assignment she has had in Walton County and I know that she will be a great leader for LMS.”

• Bachelor’s degree from Tennessee Tech in Elementary Education
• Master’s degree from Georgia State in Middle Grades
• Educational Specialist degree from Lincoln Memorial in Administration and Supervision
