Beaudreau Announces Reelection Bid

District 3 Commissioner Mike Beaudreau announced he will seek reelection in November to hold onto his seat on the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners.

Mike Beaudreau has announced his intent to seek a third term as the Gwinnett County Commissioner for District 3.

“The last few years have been very difficult for the county and many of its residents,” Beaudreau said in a released statement.  “Because of the economic downturn, the Board of Commissioners was forced to make difficult decisions about spending and taxes.  My conservative leadership and opposition to tax increases helped get us to where we are today, with our top credit rating intact, and with the lowest unemployment rate of metro Atlanta’s core counties.  Now that we see signs of improvement on the horizon, I want to continue to help move the county in the right direction.”

Mike Korom of Dacula has also announced his intent to seek the District 3 post.

District 3 includes portions of the Braselton and Chateau Elan areas in the northern part of the county, as well as Centerville, Snellville, Grayson, Loganville and Dacula.

I sent Mike several emails regarding an issue I was concerned about and didn't recieve any word back from him at all. Very disappointed. He came to my house and shook my hand when he asked me to vote for him, but then couldn't at least acknowledge the emails that were sent.

Last fall there was a movement via social media to investigate the need for a traffic light at Bay Creek Park in Loganville. While Mr. Beaudreau reached out to Board Member at Grayson Athletic Association via Facebook upon seeing this movemnet, all returned calls and emails to Mr. Beaudreau went unanswered. That's OK as the people and board members of Grayson Athletic Association ended up doing the leg work with the county. Not sure why we have elected officials if they want to just be seen and not heard.

Brian, that is exactly why i tried to reach Beaudreau, regarding that traffic light and also the shooting at the park. I am still highly ticked off that he wouldn't return an email.

I will be voting against him since he appears to be willing to put those 67 thousand people in a 3mile radius around Briscoe Field under the bus with commercial airport expansion. .
