Bagley, Price Qualify for Loganville Council, Mayor

Chuck Bagley is a former Walton County Commissioner who also ran in Loganville's special election in June, and Jerry Price is a former councilman having served eight years.

Two more candidates entered the race for the Loganville mayor's seat and city council posts on the last day of qualifying Wednesday (Aug. 28).

Chuck Bagley qualified for the city council, and Jerry Price qualified for the mayor's seat.

Price is a former councilman, having served eight years from 2004 to 2011. He ran for a fifth term but lost in the 2011 general election.

Bagley, a former commissioner for Walton County's District 2, ran in the special election last June for a seat on the council but lost against Jay Boland, who is still serving his term.

In addition to the mayor's seat, three at-large council seats are on the ballot for the November general election. Five candidates qualified Monday (Aug. 26) for the council seats: Eileen Waring, Linda Dodd and Amanda Soesbe, and incumbents Rey Martinez and Mark Kiddoo.

Current Mayor Dan Curry also qualified that day to run for re-election. Curry was elected only this past June after the late Mayor Ray Nunley resigned in March.
