6 Candidates Qualify to Run for Loganville City Council

Three at-large seats and the mayor's seat are on the ballot for the general election in November.

Monday (Aug. 26) was just the start of qualifying week for the city of Loganville, but already six people have qualified for three city council seats and the mayor's seat.

Current Mayor Dan Curry qualified Monday to run for re-election, and as of the late afternoon, no one else has entered the race against him. Curry was elected only this past June after the late Mayor Ray Nunley resigned in March.

So far, five people have qualified for the three council seats: incumbents Rey Martinez and Mark Kiddoo, Eileen Waring, Linda Dodd and Amanda Soesbe.

Soesbe is the executive assistant for the Evermore CID, Waring is a former two-term councilwoman who announced her run in June, and Dodd has served on the event committee for the Autumn Heritage Festival.
