Third Suspect In McDonald's Armed Robbery Still On the Loose

Officials confirmed the third suspect in the July 16 armed robbery at the Loganville McDonald's, Brent Butler, 32, was not in custody Monday.

Officials from the Walton County jail confirmed Monday that Brent Butler, 32, a suspect in the is still on the lam. The other two people charged remain in the Walton County jail. 

According to Lt. Mike Westbrooks of the the shift manager on duty at the time of the robbery was involved in the heist. Jacqueline Ward Edwards, 41, of Monroe, was arrested at the restaurant Thursday and charged with armed robbery, making false statements to officers and party to a crime. The first two charges are felonies and the third is a misdemeanor, Westbrooks said.

A second suspect, Phillip Cross, 20, was arrested Friday. He and Butler are facing charges of armed robbery as well as possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Butler was last in the Walton County jail in March of this year on unrelated charges, but has since been released. He faces an additional charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Westbrooks said Cross and Butler, who were armed at the time, entered the in the early morning hours of July 16 and were able to get away with $3,919.

"None of the money has been recovered at this time," Westbrooks said. "While investigating the robbery, the suspicious actions of the shift manager led us to believe she was involved and during follow up investigations we developed sufficient evidence to take out a warrant for her arrest."
