Sinkhole Opens Up on Scenic Highway in Snellville in Front of Walton EMC Truck

Snellville Police advised residents to avoid the area near Scenic Highway and Henry Clower Boulevard.

According to an alert from Snellville Police, a sink hole has occurred on Scenic Highway south of Henry Clower Boulevard in the north bound lanes. It is reportedly 8 feet deep and covers the whole of the right turning lane. 

Snellville Police Lt. McKinney told Patch that a Walton EMC truck was driving on Scenic Highway and saw the road just open up in front of him. Fortunately he was able to avoid the hole and contact police. 

Snellville Patch will update this story as more information is made available. All lanes except the turning lane at Henry Clower were open by 8:10 p.m. Wednesday.
