There are few things that stir up such strong emotions as the murder of an innocent child. As a Canton family goes into the Christmas season having to bear that burden, the country is coming together to mourn the sexual assault and murder of the 7-year-old girl.

After being reported missing on Friday, the body of Jorelys Rivera, of Canton, was discovered just after midday Monday in a dumpster at the River Ridge apartment complex, according to .

As in the case of , this case has touched people around the country. And again, as in the case of Caylee, they have turned to Facebook to express their emotions.

“This is so heartbreaking - brought tears to my eyes!" wrote Wendy Ridgeway of Loganville. “I can't even imagine why on earth anyone could do something so brutal, especially to a beautiful little angel like her.”

Another Loganville resident, Jennifer Jenkins Taylor, wrote, “That is awful. There is a place in hell for people who hurt children.”

Others were even more outspoken in what type of punishment would be fitting for whoever was guilty of this heinous crime. However, no arrests have been made at this time. is reporting that an autopsy will be conducted at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation crime lab tonight and Tuesday, authorities will hold a 10:30 a.m. press conference at the . The Georgia State Patrol is reportedly stopping every car that enters or exits the River Ridge apartment where the little girl’s body was discovered.

A candlelight vigil is reportedly being planned for Jorelys on Friday. Also, as in the case of Caylee Anthony, a Facebook page is asking for porch lights to be turned on overnight until 7 a.m. Tuesday in memory of the little girl taken so young and in such a violent way.
