Police: Woman Stuffs Stolen 'Ruggies' Down Pants at CVS

She attempted to conceal them in the backseat of a police car when she was being arrested for other stolen goods from the Loganville store.

A 42-year-old woman was arrested last week in connection to placing CVS merchandise in her purse and pants in a shoplifting attempt.

According to the Loganville Police Report, an employee at the 4377 Atlanta Hwy. store told authorities that the suspect removed items from their packaging and put them in her purse.

When officers arrived, the woman became very emotional and started removing the items from her purse. She also apologized, saying, "I'm sorry, I changed my mind."

She became more apologetic when she was placed under arrest for the charge. Police found nearly $100 worth of stolen cosmetics, sunglasses, perfume, dry mouth relief medicine and more in her purse.

Before the suspect was driven to the police station, the employee told police that they located an empty box of "ruggies," or rug grippers, in the store, but they couldn't find the product.

The suspect said she didn't know where the merchandise was. But during the trip to the police department, the officer saw that she was trying to conceal items in the backseat.

They were the missing ruggies, and she told authorities that she had forgotten that they were in her pants.

The items were returned to CVS. The middle-aged woman was charged with shoplifting.
