Police: Man Uses Fake Cash, Hides Marijuana in Toilet at Loganville Motel

He and a naked woman were arrested on marijuana possession charges.

A man who tried to use fake cash to pay for his motel room in Loganville last month ended up getting arrested and charged with marijuana possession.

According to the Loganville Police report, authorities were called out to Whits Inn at 4846 Lawrenceville Hwy. around 8:21 a.m. on a recent Saturday because of the counterfeit money.  The motel clerk told police that the man had come to the front desk at 2 a.m. to pay his bill with three $20 bills.

After checking them, she told him the money was fake, but he reasoned that it was because the cash had been through a washing machine. The clerk stood her ground and repeated that his $20s were fake, so he told her that he would go back to his car and get some real cash.

The issue didn't get resolved, so police went to his room to interview him, but it took authorities several knocks for him to open the door.

Once police were in his room, the man admitted that the money was fake. He had gotten the cash after selling some things, but he didn't know the buyer's name.

The motel room smelled of marijuana, and police also found a cigarette believed to have the illegal drug in it on the night stand. The man said it was his friend's who was there the previous night, but he didn't know his name. More marijuana was found hidden in the tank of the toilet in the bathroom.

Also in the room was a woman who had been sleeping naked in bed. Saying the drug makes her sick, she told the cops that the marijuana cigarette was not hers.

Police also found $1,146 in cash in the man's shoe. He said it was part of his paycheck.

The money and marijuana were placed into police evidence. Both the man and woman were arrested and charged with marijuana possession and were transported to the Walton County jail.
