Victim Found Dead in Loganville Walmart Parking Lot Identified

Grace Hughes, 56, of Flowery Branch, was found dead in a car parked at Walmart in Loganville, Ga. late Thursday night.

has released the name of in the parking lot on Thursday evening. Lt. Mike Westbrooks of the LPD said Grace Hughes, 56, of Flowery Branch, Ga. was found inside a small, green vehicle that was parked at Walmart during the overnight hours of July 5.

"She will have an autopsy tomorrow and we will then be able to identify a cause of death," Westbrooks said, adding that there is nothing to signify foul play at this time. "We also found no evidence of alcohol or narcotic usage inside the vehicle, but we will need the autopsy to tell us anything conclusive."

Westbrooks said he didn't want to speculate on a cause of death and was waiting for the autopsy before making any further comment. He said the vehicle Hughes was in had been reported stolen earlier in the week by a friend of the victim.

"Her friend allowed her to take it and she just never came back home," Westbrooks said.

Loganville Deputy Chief Dick Lowry said the body was discovered by one of the LPD School Resource Officers who was working city duty during the school holidays.

"He noticed a car that looked out of place and on checking he found it was reported stolen," Lowry said. "When he went up to the vehicle he located the person in it deceased."
